European herbalism: diversity, challenges and future

Booked in 2025 for the International Herb Symposium

European herbalism is very diverse and alive. Yet herbalists are sometimes discouraged by restrictive or absurd legal frameworks, the rapid decline of herbal knowledge and disinterest of the general public. Time for action!

After this talk, participants will know

  • Why European herbalism is important intangible cultural heritage

  • What challenges European herbalism faces

  • How we can learn from one another and help spread the knowledge and skills before they go extinct
